FAQ: I have not sold my business? In some situations, a change of ownership (COR) process may need to be completed despite no material change to the business's day to day operations. This most commonly occurs when the ownership structure of a business changes in such a way as to cause an ABN to become no longer current, this can be for many reasons but can include changing from a sole trader operation to a company structure for example. Such a change does not need to be recent, and may have occurred several years ago, as the noncompliance is only detected when the ABN is struck from the ABN registry. In situtions such as this, its ok for you to list yourself as both the past and future owner, the only thing that is important is that the past ABN, and future ABN are correctly listed.
